Ian Klug (Chairman)
Company Director
Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Fellow of the
Australian Institute of Management and a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. He is currently
a Director of the City Business Advisory Board, a Director of Wide Bay Water Corporation, a Director of
the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts and a Syndicate Chairman for the CEO Institute. Former
directorships and appointments include Chairman of the Office of Economic Development for Brisbane,
Chairman of Queensland Artworkers Alliance, Queensland President of the Australia Indonesia Business
Council, Director of Tennis Queensland and a Councillor of Tennis Australia. Ian is currently a member
of the Lord Mayor’s Business Round Table and the Queensland Private Enterprise Committee.
Mark Brodie
Managing Director, Brodie Group
Mark is the Managing Director of Brodie Group and founder of Brodies Mealmakers, a company that
owns and operates quick service restaurants. Mark is also Chairman of the National Retail Association, City of
Brisbane Investment Corporation and the Lord Mayor’s Business Round Table. He also holds directorships and
fellowships with several other companies and organisations.
Phillip Di Bella
Owner Di Bella Coffee
Phillip Di Bella is the owner and creator of Di Bella Coffee, the Chair of the Queen Street
Mall Advisory Committee and a member of The Valley Mall Advisory Committee.
Malcolm Hall-Brown
Company Director
Malcolm Hall-Brown is a Certified Practising Accountant, a Fellow of the Australian
Society of Certified Practising Accountants and a property developer. He is on the board of a number of
property related companies including Northeast Business Park Pty. Ltd and was recently appointed as an independent
director of Haematology and Oncology Clinics Pty. Ltd.
Geoff Harley
Consultant, Clayton Utz
Geoff has practiced law for more than 35 years, primarily in commercial litigation.
Having served as Managing Partner and Partner-in-Charge of Clayton Utz’s Brisbane office, Geoff resigned
from the partnership and is now a consultant to the firm. He currently sits on a number of boards and advisory
councils including the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and the Griffith University Business School and
chairs the Translink Transit Authority. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Queensland.
Anthony Hayes
Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Queensland
Anthony joined Tourism Queensland in 2005 as Executive Director International Operations
after a long career in management with Qantas, which included heading up the Airline’s German and Austrian
operations, Industry Sales for New South Wales, Product Development, Tourism Marketing and Corporate
Sponsorships. He was also Assistant to Managing Director James Strong. Anthony was appointed Chief
Executive Officer in September 2007 after acting in the position for three months. Anthony has served on
several tourism industry body boards of management including the Australian Tourism Export Council,
Sydney Visitors and Convention Bureau and Tourism Tropical North Queensland. He is also currently a board
member of Queensland Events Corporation.
Sean Ryan
General Manager, Nova 106.9
Sean Ryan began his media career in television before moving into radio. Sean launched
Brisbane’s successful Nova 106.9 FM radio station in Brisbane in August 2004 and has been at the helm
ever since. Sean is Chairman of the Sister Cities Steering Committee, a Director of CitySmart Pty Ltd,
a member of the Lord Mayor’s Business Round Table, the Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Round Table and the
Asia Pacific Cities Summit. In addition, Sean is on the board of the Starlight Children’s Foundation,
chairing the Five Chef’s Dinner committee and is a Friend of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.
He also sits on the boards of Major Brisbane Festivals and The Mater Hospital Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service.
Peter Sherrie
Director, Excel Development Group
Peter is a Past President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA), having
led the Institute from 2004 to 2006. He is currently a Director of UDIA Queensland and the current National
Vice President for the UDIA. Peter has more than 17 years experience in development in Queensland and
New South Wales. He is a Director of Excel Development Group Pty Ltd and a Director of EDG Biloela Pty Ltd.
Belinda Walters
Company Director
Belinda has a broad range of experience in the event management, convention and tourism
industries in South Australia. She has held a number of senior positions in these industries, including
General Manager, Australian Major Events (South Australia) and Executive Director, Adelaide Convention
and Tourism Authority.
